WIP Wednesday – Flowers and Butterflies

Knitted Croched Thing

It’s WIP Wednesday, and I’ve got something dainty for you. Continuing our George Washington Carver theme, George made some beautiful crocheted lace pieces, like this:

Knitted Thing

I’ve been working on a different kind of lace- making, called Tatting. There are a few different methods of making, but I’ve worked primarily with shuttle tatting. You can also work on a needle, which is called needle tatting.

I just started to learn needle tatting, and it’s very similar. It’s tiny, but I think it’s fun. Right now I’m making some book marks. The red flower may just stay a flower, I’m still thinking about it, but the navy butterfly is ready, and the other butterfly is in progress. I’m working from this lovely pattern from Yarnplayer.
